Tajikistan explores renewable energy collaboration with Nebras Power

During his state visit to the State of Qatar, President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan engaged in a crucial meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nebras Power, Mohammed Nasser Al-Hajri, on January 21, the presidential press service reported. The focus of the discussions centered around fostering trade and economic cooperation and encouraging investments between the two nations.

President Rahmon expressed the significance of the meeting, highlighting its potential impact on the development of renewable energy sources and the promotion of a "green economy" in Tajikistan. The Republic of Tajikistan has substantial untapped potential in the field of renewable energy, particularly in solar and wind power. To harness this potential, the government has adopted the "Green Economy Development Strategy for 2023-2037," outlining a comprehensive plan for sustainable development.

During the meeting, President Rahmon extended an invitation to the State of Qatar, urging them to explore investment opportunities in Tajikistan's renewable energy sector. The aim is to collaborate on priority projects that would mutually benefit both nations and strengthen the bonds of cooperation.

Tajikistan has been actively pursuing measures to produce electricity from renewable sources, aligning with global efforts to transition towards sustainable energy. By inviting Qatar to invest in these initiatives, Tajikistan seeks to not only enhance its energy landscape but also to bolster economic ties between the two countries.
