In a joint effort involving the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Malaysia, the Royal Thai authorities, the Embassy of Myanmar in Malaysia, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the International Justice Mission (IJM), three citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan have been successfully repatriated after being victims of human trafficking in Myanmar, MFA reported.
The Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Malaysia played a pivotal role in coordinating the return of its citizens, working closely with Thai and Myanmar authorities, IOM, and IJM to ensure a safe and organized repatriation process.
The victims are undergoing rehabilitation and psychological support provided by relevant Tajik authorities. Preventative measures are also being implemented to safeguard against similar situations in the future, demonstrating the commitment of Tajikistan to protecting its citizens.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan extends its gratitude to the authorities of Thailand and Myanmar, as well as the International Organization for Migration and the International Justice Mission, for their invaluable assistance in protecting the rights and interests of Tajik citizens and facilitating their return home.
