The State Assets Management Agency has initiated the process of selecting a professional consultant for the privatization of a significant stake in Uzenergoengineering, as per to an official announcement released on September 18. This privatization effort involves offering 87.7% of the company's shares for sale to potential investors. The selected consultant will undertake a comprehensive analysis of the market for electrical design services and develop a strategic plan for executing the asset's privatization.
The primary responsibilities of the consultant include evaluating the current state of the enterprise and formulating recommendations to enhance its investment appeal. Additionally, the consultant will be tasked with creating a robust marketing strategy and preparing promotional materials aimed at attracting potential buyers.
The selection process is open to both individual companies and consortia, with consortia required to identify a senior partner. Interested parties are encouraged to provide details of their previous experience in conducting similar transactions, including within the CIS region.
Commercial proposals from prospective consultants are being accepted through email at tender@davaktiv.uz, with the submission deadline set for no later than 18:00 Tashkent time on September 30.
Uzenergoengineering specializes in the design of power supply facilities and electrification projects for rural areas, cities, regional centers, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as water management facilities and utility complexes. The company is also actively engaged in forecasting and optimizing energy balances within various industries and is participating in the development of a long-term strategy for Uzbekistan's energy distribution system.
Uzenergoengineering traces its roots back to 1956 when the Uzbek branch of the Giproselelectro Institute was established. The company was restructured into its current form in 2019.
Earlier Daryo reported that the Agency for Management of State Assets in Uzbekistan has identified 766 state-owned enterprises as non-operational and financially unviable out of a total of 2,333 registered enterprises in the country, indicating a significant portion of these entities are economically active.
