President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with John Tonelli, the Managing Director of "Oppenheimer" investment company in New York. The discussions centered on the prospects for implementing projects in Uzbekistan with the investment of this significant investment bank, which boasts assets worth $36bn, as reported by the presidential press service on September 19.
John Tonelli expressed his satisfaction with the agreements reached, particularly regarding the attraction of private investments in major projects aimed at organizing and modernizing industrial facilities in Uzbekistan.
The initial stage of these efforts will focus on financing the development of textile clusters, building materials industry enterprises, and infrastructure development projects in Tashkent city. Additionally, investments are planned to support small and medium-sized businesses.
President Mirziyoyev endorsed these plans and instructed officials to commence practical work promptly.
Earlier Daryo reported that General Electric Corporation, a worldwide industrial giant, has expressed its intent to enhance investments and technological collaboration with Uzbek companies as part of a strategic alliance.
