President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with Seyfi Ghasemi, Chairman of the Board, President, and CEO of "Air Products," during his visit to New York. The meeting also involved the participation of U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Energy Jeffrey Payette, as per to a presidential press service report on September 19.
The discussions focused on the expansion of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the prominent U.S. company, the progress of ongoing projects, and the development of specific plans for the future.
Currently, "Air Products" is engaged in industrial gas processing at "Uzbekistan GTL," the production of synthesis gas, oxygen, and nitrogen, as well as liquefied carbon dioxide based on "Navoiyazot" in Uzbekistan. Over the next two years, the company plans to attract more than $1bn in direct investment to continue these projects.
The meeting also delved into prospective projects related to coal gasification, technical gas production, hydrogen and ammonium production, and the management of bitter gases. "Air Products" experts are actively involved in developing the necessary regulatory framework for decarbonization efforts.
Furthermore, the project portfolio encompasses the introduction of innovative developments in the food industry.
At the conclusion of the meeting, agreements were exchanged concerning the implementation of "Air Products'" new investment program in Uzbekistan, valued at over $10bn. In recognition of his contributions to expanding Uzbekistan-USA multilateral cooperation and supporting transformative reforms in Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev awarded Seyfi Ghasemi, Chairman of the Board of Air Products, with the highest state honor, the Order of Friendship.
Earlier Daryo reported that during a meeting in New York, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and Steve Naderny, Vice President of "CNH" company, reconfirmed the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the transnational firm "CNH" in the agricultural machinery sector, which has assets of roughly $50bn.
