The Ministry of Transport operating under the Taliban regime has shared noteworthy achievements of the past year. Despite being under UN sanctions for their involvement in terrorist activities, the ministry revealed statistics that underscore the operation and management of Afghanistan's airspace and transportation sector, Sputnik Afghanistan reported.

Air traffic successes: The Afghan airspace witnessed the passage of 25,540 flights over the course of the year, contributing significantly to the nation's treasury. These flights generated a total revenue of $94 mn, emphasizing the strategic importance of Afghanistan's airspace for international air travel.
Passenger and cargo transport: The ministry reported a substantial movement of passengers and cargo, both domestically and internationally. A total of 561,099 passengers were transported through a combination of domestic and international flights. Moreover, the transportation of 2,647 tons of cargo was carried out, indicative of the continued economic activity within the country.
Revenue increase: The financial results of the Ministry of Transport also stood out. The revenue generated from the transportation sector saw a remarkable surge from $47 mn to $104 mn. This doubling of revenue suggests the growing vitality of the Afghan transportation industry, despite the challenging circumstances the country has been facing.
Database and assessment: The Ministry of Transport disclosed that their efforts also extended to strengthening the logistics infrastructure within the nation. A total of 900 logistics companies were included in their database, aiming to streamline the transportation and movement of goods. Additionally, 141 of these companies underwent assessments, indicating a commitment to transparency and regulation within the sector.
