The Taliban movement has reportedly eliminated a Uzbekistani citizen associated with the ISIS terrorist group in an operation conducted in the city of Bagram, Afghanistan, Sputnik Afghanistan reported on August 15.
During the operation, two individuals linked to ISIS were neutralized, and their identities were revealed. One of them, known as Najib and hailing from the Kunduz region, was identified as the leader of a terrorist group in Nimroz. The second individual, who operated under the alias Anas, was a citizen of Uzbekistan and was involved in the planning of terrorist attacks.
It was disclosed that both individuals had intentions to carry out terrorist attacks in the capital city of Kabul. Additionally, a Tajikistani citizen affiliated with ISIS was apprehended in Mazar-i-Sharif. This individual was reportedly in the process of preparing for terrorist attacks in the Balkh and Kunduz regions.
The ISIS extremist group has been classified as a "terrorist organization" by numerous countries and international bodies due to its involvement in acts of violence and terrorism on a global scale.
