The direct flights between Uzbekistan and Cyprus will commence July 29 this year. This announcement was made following a meeting between Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Italy, Otabek Akbarov, Managing Director of CTT Aviation private company, Iacovos Vassiliades, and Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Cyprus, Adam Montanios.
As per media reports, the Cypriot launch of the flight above will be overseen by CTT Aviation with the support of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Transport.
Additionally, Montanios divulged that, apart from voyages originating in Uzbekistan and destined for Cyprus, the Honorary Consulate is also actively arranging tours for Cypriot residents to Uzbekistan utilizing the same charter flights.
The Travel World Group travel agency will be held accountable for executing the flights on the Uzbek side. Uzbek airline Qanot Sharq will operate these flights, with each aircraft able to accommodate an estimated 202 passengers, allowing them to further explore Cyprus's customary attractions, including the cities of Larnaca, Limassol, and Paphos.
Vassiliades also mentioned that the mandatory permits for using Cyprus' airspace and landing slots for Qanot Sharq planes in Larnaca have already been obtained.
