Skytrax: Singapore Airlines crowned as world's top-performing air-carrier

Skytrax: Singapore Airlines crowned as world's top-performing air-carrier

Top-rating agencies specializing in the quality of services provided by airlines and airports, including the UK-based 'Skytrax,' have recently unveiled the list of the world's best airlines in 2023, media reports.

Singapore Airlines, a leading force in the aviation industry for several years, has again been acknowledged as the best for its excellence in the field, receiving its fifth award for Best Airline in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2023. This prestigious accolade has been running for 23 years.

Furthermore, Singapore Airlines was also recognized as the 5th best airline in the world by AirlineRatings.com, a highly reputable agency that specializes in rating aviation safety and product quality.

CEO of Skytrax, Edward Plaisted, noted that Singapore Airlines had performed exceptionally well in numerous award categories, with their First Class cabin being recognized as the best in the world.

Reportedly, Skytrax conducted impartial and self-financed surveys of over 325 airlines globally from September 2022 to May 2023.

According to Goh Choon Phong, the CEO of Singapore Airlines, their success resulted from their team's hard work and dedication. They made numerous sacrifices to ensure SIA was well-prepared for the return of air travel. This helped the company emerge from the pandemic even stronger and more resilient.

    Best in class

This year's second-best airline is Qatar Airways, a recipient of the Airline of the Year award seven consecutive times. Following closely behind is ANA All Nippon Airways from Japan, while Emirates and Japan Airlines secured the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

The air carrier from Qatar excelled in the business class category, achieving awards for the World's Best Business Class, World's Best Business Class Seat, World's Best Business Class Lounge (specifically, the Al Mourjan Lounge located at Hamad International Airport), World's Best Business Class Lounge Dining, and Best Airline in the Middle East.

ANA has been recognized as the World's Cleanest Airline for three consecutive years and received the World's Best Airport Services award.

Kuwait Airways recently implemented a complimentary chauffeur service for their esteemed first and business-class patrons. This enhancement has earned them the prestigious recognition of the World's Most Improved Airline. Meanwhile, AirAsia has maintained its position as the World's Best Low-Cost Airline, having consistently claimed this title since 2010.

According to the awards, Scoot was recognized as the top long-haul low-cost airline. At the same time, Volotea emerged victorious in the highly competitive category of the best low-cost airline in Europe.

    The world's most eco-conscious airlines

Air Canada emerged victorious in the recently introduced World's Most Family-Friendly Airline category. This category evaluates various aspects like family seating policies, priority boarding, and children's amenities provided by the airline.

Garuda Indonesia's cabin staff have been recognized as the best in the world, while Cathay Pacific has been honored for providing the World's Best Inflight Entertainment. Additionally, Bangkok Airways has retained its title as the World's Best Regional Airline.

Delta Air Lines received the title of Best Airline in North America and Best Airline Staff Service for the region. Meanwhile, Sun Country Airlines was awarded the title of Best Low-Cost Airline in North America for the first time, and Alaska Airlines was recognized as North America's Best Regional Airline.

The following airlines have been recognized for their exceptional service and quality: Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways, ANA All Nippon Airways, Emirates, Japan Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Air France, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Korean Air, Hainan Airlines, Swiss Int’l Air Lines, Etihad Airways, Iberia, Fiji Airways, Vistara, Qantas Airways, British Airways, Air New Zealand, and Delta Air Lines.

The World's Best Cabin Crew for 2023 airlines include Garuda Indonesia, Singapore Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways, EVA Air, Hainan Airlines, Qatar Airways, Cathay Pacific, Thai Airways, Emirates, and Japan Airlines.

The Best Low-Cost Airlines for 2023 include AirAsia, Scoot, Indigo, Flynas, Volotea, Transavia France, Sun Country Airlines, Southwest Airlines, airBaltic, Jet2.com, easyJet, Vueling Airlines, Ryanair, Jetstar Airways, and flyDubai.
