Officials from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tehran recently met with Qeshm Air representatives, including Alireza Mufidi, Director of 'Hamsafaran Mashhad', to explore potential collaboration between the two nations in the tourism sector. Reportedly, 'Qeshm Air' is considering the possibility of offering direct flights connecting Tehran with Tashkent and Samarkand.
At the meeting, the Iranian representative commended the reforms initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which aim to further develop the tourism industry in Uzbekistan. Alireza Mufidi reflected on the 'Great Silk Road' international tourist center, a new development that was commenced in Samarkand in August 2022. The ambitious project comprises an amphitheater, Congress Hall, eight modern hotels, and other facilities that are sure to attract a significant number of tourists.
From June 21, 'Qeshm Air' will operate one direct flight per week from Tehran to Samarkand on Wednesdays.
To encourage Iranian tourists to visit Uzbekistan, 'Qeshm Air' and 'Hamsafaran Mashhad' have created a video showcasing Uzbekistan's tourism potential. This promotional video is currently being widely shared on popular social media platforms, including Instagram, Telegram, WhatsApp, Facebook, and Twitter. The aim of this joint initiative is to increase awareness of Uzbekistan's rich cultural heritage and diverse tourist offerings, helping to promote the country as a premier destination for international travelers.
