President of Singapore Halimah Yacob, who arrived in Uzbekistan on May 23 at the invitation of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited Samarkand on May 25 according to the visit program. The high-ranking guest who arrived in the city of Samarkand on the "Afrosiyob" train was welcomed by the governor of the region, Erkinjon Turdimov.
The visit first started with a visit to the Imam Bukhari complex. According to UzA, the adviser to the President of Uzbekistan, Muzaffar Komilov, informed the President of Singapore about the construction and construction works of this complex, which is being rebuilt at the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the previous condition of the object.
It was noted that the opportunities and facilities created for pilgrims in the complex and around it serve to develop pilgrimage tourism.
After that, Halima Yaqub got acquainted with the activities of the Imam Bukhari International Research Center and the museum there. It was reported that the heritage of great scholars and muhaddis is being researched in the international center established by the initiative of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and dozens of historical books have been published in a short period of time.
The President of Singapore also visited the Hadis School and talked with the teachers and students working there. The conditions and opportunities created for young people studying Hadith in the school were highly appreciated.
After the Hadith school, the President of Singapore visited the tomb of Amir Temur. The high-ranking guest was informed about Amir Temur's life and statehood history, and creative works.
After the visit, the President of Singapore visited Registan Square. He was informed about the history of the creation of this monument and the measures being taken to preserve it.

Our trip to Samarkand is full of impressions. We were especially happy to visit the Imam Bukhari complex, one of the auspicious places of the Islamic world. The scientific heritage of this great teacher is the wealth of the entire Muslim world, said Halima Yaqub, who gave an interview to the media here.
The President of Singapore also visited the Siob Farmer's Market. He bought products grown in Uzbekistan and national crafts.
With that, the Singaporean president's trip to Samarkand ended and he returned to Tashkent.
