The head of the WHO, Tedros Ghebreyesus, became the "health care expert of Uzbekistan", the press service of the Ministry of Health reports.
Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov met with Ghebreyesus within the framework of the 76th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva.
The main attention was paid to the discussion of the effectiveness of the work carried out with the support of WHO in Uzbekistan. Inoyatov expressed his gratitude to Gebreyesus for his generous support in the development of the health sector in Uzbekistan.
The head of the WHO also highly appreciated the reforms being carried out in the medicine of Uzbekistan. He emphasized that the work they are doing in the fight against tuberculosis will serve as an example for other countries.
At the end of the dialogue, Tedros Ghebreyesus was awarded the "Health Excellence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" badge for his contribution to ensuring effective cooperation between WHO and Uzbekistan.
