A new modification of the Khorramshahr-4 ballistic missile with an improved targeting system in flight compared to its previous versions was shown in Iran for the first time.
“We are trying to supply the armed forces with various missiles, drones, and air defense systems. Such public demonstrations of weapons will no doubt continue in the future,” Iranian Defense Minister Mohammad Reza Ashtiani said.
The launch took place at a ceremony marking the day of the liberation of the city of Khorramshahr, which was captured during the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988.
The speed of the rocket reached Mach 16 outside the atmosphere (about 19,600 km/h) and Mach eight (about 9,800 km/h) in the atmosphere.
