Preliminary data from the Statistics Agency indicates that Uzbekistan's lemon exports increased by 681 tons in 1Q23 compared to the same period in 2022, with 2,200 tons worth $1.8mn being exported to seven foreign countries.

The countries that imported the most lemons from Uzbekistan during this period were Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
The Statistics Agency also released development forecasts for Uzbekistan's economy, revealing a 5.5% growth in GDP by the end of 1Q23, along with growth in industry, agriculture, retail trade turnover, and construction. The inflation rate decreased from 2.9% to 2.4% and foreign trade turnover increased by 11.9%.
The World Bank had previously predicted a 5.3% growth in Uzbekistan's economy in 2023.
