Turkmenistan has overhauled a maternity clinic in the border town of Turgundi in Herat province, Afghanistan, as a humanitarian aid.
The Turkmenistan's General Consulate reports that the 20-bed facility was built as a gift at the expense of the Turkmen state treasury in 2006.
"At the request of the Afghan side, the event (ritual meal) was held on the occasion of the recent overhaul of this health center by the Turkmen side, during which medicines and medical supplies were delivered as humanitarian aid".
Turkmenistan has a long border of more than 800km with Afghanistan. About one million ethnic Turkmen live in that country's northern provinces.
Official Ashgabat in Faryab afghan province built a 500-seat mosque in 2018. Turkmen energy sources are supplied on favourable terms.
