By 2030, Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) plans to achieve annual production capacities of 500,000 tons of copper, 50 tons of gold, and 270 tons of silver. Upon completion of ongoing development projects, the combine’s ore deposit is expected to become the largest in the world by size.
A press conference in Tashkent focused on the progress of investment projects at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC), particularly the development of the “Yoshlik-1” deposit. AMMC officials outlined the ongoing implementation of the combine’s development concept, which extends through 2030, and provided updates on key projects under this framework.

Development of “Yoshlik-1” Deposit and the 3rd Copper Enrichment Plant
The “Yoshlik-1” deposit is a centerpiece of AMMC’s development strategy. The 3rd Copper Enrichment Plant, which is under construction, plays a significant role in this project. First Deputy Director Aziz Murotov stated that investment in the combine has risen sharply, growing from $123mn between 2012 and 2016 to $4.5bn from 2017 to 2024. This investment surge has resulted in a 1.8-fold increase in industrial production and a 7.7-fold increase in localization.
By 2030, AMMC aims to achieve production capacities of 500,000 tons of copper, 50 tons of gold, and 270 tons of silver annually. The combine’s ore deposit is projected to become the world’s largest in terms of size upon completing these developments.
Launch of the 4th Copper Enrichment Plant
During President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to AMMC on October 15, construction commenced on the 4th Copper Enrichment Plant. Scheduled to begin operations in 2025, the plant will process 60mn tons of ore annually and produce over 800,000 tons of copper concentrate. Supporting infrastructure, including the 6th sulfuric acid workshop with a capacity of 180,000 tons, and advanced pump-hydrocyclone equipment, will also be operational by 2025.
Obidjon Jonsaidov, Deputy Head of the Investment and Capital Construction Department, noted ongoing collaboration with international partners from Japan, Korea, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, and Singapore to incorporate innovative technologies into these projects.
AMMC’s projects are expected to create over 3,000 new jobs. Head of the AMMC Information Service Umida Qarshiboyeva highlighted plans to integrate high-tech, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly production technologies into the 4th Copper Enrichment Plant.
