In 1Q24, a significant number of large taxpayers in Uzbekistan, totalling over 218,000 entities, contributed approximately UZS 24.5 trillion ($1.9 bn) to the national treasury, the Tax Committee reports. A notable portion of these contributions, amounting to UZS 12.5 trillion ($982.2 mn), came from ten companies.

The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NGMK) was the most prominent contributor among state-owned enterprises, with payments reaching UZS 6.2 trillion ($486.7 mn). Other major contributors included Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) and JSC "Khudududgazta'minot", which paid UZS 1.9 trillion ($149.1 mn) and UZS 899.1 bn ($70.6 mn), respectively.
In the private sector, "Uz Bat" was the leading contributor with UZS 646 bn ($50.7 mn), followed by Enter Engineering with UZS 323 bn, and Tashkent Tobacco with UZS 199 bn ($25.4 mn).
During the year 2023, a total of 64,272 small enterprises contributed over UZS 10.9 trillion ($867.5 mn) in taxes. The top 20 of these small enterprises alone accounted for UZS 83.9 bn ($6.7 mn) in tax payments, demonstrating their role in the fiscal system.
The distribution of tax revenues from these top small enterprises spanned several categories:
- Excise Tax: UZS 52.5 bn ($4.2 mn)
- Value-Added Tax: UZS 15.4 bn ($1.2 mn)
- Income Tax: UZS 7 bn ($557,103)
- Personal Income Tax: UZS 3 bn ($238,758)
- Social Tax: UZS 2.2 bn ($175,089)
- Other Taxes: UZS 3.8 bn ($302,427)
