Uzbekistan exported 311,000 tons of fruit worth $368.6mn during January–June 2025, according to official figures presented at a recent press briefing by the Agency of Information and Mass Communications (AOKA).
O'g'iloy Boltaboyeva, Head of the Information Service at the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex shared the data, highlighting the country’s strong performance in the fruit export sector. She noted that Uzbekistan grows 3.4mn tons of fruit and 1.9mn tons of grapes annually. In 2024 alone, the country exported $2.3bn worth of fruits, vegetables, and food products — $1.5bn of which came from fruits and vegetables.
Cherries were the top export in the first half of 2025, making up 11% of total fruit exports with $96.8mn earned from 42,100 tons. Apricots followed with 54,100 tons worth $41mn (15%). Plums accounted for 3.9% of exports at $10mn (14,600 tons), while apples contributed 3.6% at $6.7mn (13,300 tons).
To support the sector’s growth, 10 new agrologistics centers are planned for 2025, with four already launched — one each in Surkhandarya, Navoi, Samarkand, and Fergana regions.
The overall export performance of Uzbekistan in the first half of the year also saw significant gains. Total exports reached $16.9bn, up 33% year-on-year. Excluding gold, goods and services exports rose 23% to $10.4bn.
Fruit and vegetable exports grew 40%, contributing to broader export growth that also included strong performances in jewelry (up 4.6 times), uranium (23%), construction materials (17%), flour (42%), pharmaceuticals (20%), tourism (54%), information services (93%), and transport services (22%).
Tashkent city led the regions with $493mn in exports, accounting for 31% of the national total.
