Large enterprises in Uzbekistan produced 2,545 tons of copper wire in 2025, according to the Statistics Committee. This marks a 67.7% increase from January 2024, when production stood at 1,517 tons, and a 141.2% surge compared to January 2023, when only 1,055 tons were produced.

The sharp rise in copper wire production reflects the country’s expanding industrial capacity and increasing demand for copper products. Strategic investments in the mining and metallurgical sector, coupled with growing export opportunities, have fueled this significant growth.
In 8M24, the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (Almalyk MMC), Uzbekistan’s largest copper producer, exported goods worth over $425mn. This figure exceeded the company’s forecast by 18.8%.
Copper product exports reached 36,219 tons, exceeding projections by 40.9%. Additionally, the company shipped 18,337 tons of zinc products, while copper sulfate exports totaled 8,121 tons, surpassing the forecast by 50.4%.
Looking ahead, Almalyk MMC is set to expand its production capabilities. By 2030, the company aims to achieve an annual output of 500,000 tons of copper, 50 tons of gold, and 270 tons of silver.
Upon completion of its ongoing development projects, Almalyk MMC’s ore deposit is expected to become the largest in the world by size, reinforcing Uzbekistan’s growing presence in the global metals market.
