Uzbekistan exported textile products worth almost $2.9bn in 2024, accounting for 10.6% of the country’s total exports, according to the Statistics Agency.

Yarn remained the largest export category, bringing in $1.24bn. Ready-made textile products followed closely, with exports totaling $1.12bn. Knitted fabrics contributed $292.1mn, while garment exports reached $145.9mn.
Among specific clothing items, hoodies generated $42.6mn in export revenue.
In January 2025, Uzbekistan's textile and knitwear exports were projected to reach $4bn, with plans for further expansion. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev had signed a decree to strengthen processing chains in the textile, garment, and knitwear industries.

The initiative aimed to boost the sector’s economic contribution, setting targets of $5bn in exports by 2026 and $7bn by 2027, with finished products accounting for 70% of the total. A significant portion of this growth was expected to come from exports to Europe and the U.S., which were projected to generate at least $500mn.
Over the next three years, $5bn in investment was planned for yarn processing. The strategy also included reallocating duties on yarn and fabric exports to the Fund for Support of Industries, which would provide commercial banks with resources to issue foreign currency loans, allowing entrepreneurs to purchase equipment for fabric and finished product manufacturing.
