A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade (MIIT) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, where Deputy Minister Akram Aliyev welcomed Ilkka Räisänen, the Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to Central Asia. The discussion focused on deepening bilateral cooperation and exploring new investment opportunities in Uzbekistan.
Representatives from several major Finnish companies, including Peikko Group, Elematic, AINS Group, Kone, and East Office, participated in the meeting. They expressed keen interest in the promising projects outlined by Uzbek officials, particularly in the areas of housing construction and electrical product manufacturing.
Deputy Minister Aliyev presented key aspects of Uzbekistan’s favorable business climate, highlighting the country’s growing investment initiatives and commitment to creating a robust environment for foreign businesses. Finnish companies, in turn, expressed their readiness to move forward with pre-project activities and prepare for the implementation phase.
A central focus of the discussions was the potential for public-private partnership models that would integrate Finnish expertise and technologies. The Finnish delegation acknowledged the progress made in Uzbekistan and its favorable conditions for investment.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation and agreeing on a schedule of activities for 2025, setting the stage for a fruitful partnership in the coming years.
