A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, recently engaged in discussions with Woo-Sik Jung, Head of the IT Business Department at Posco DX in South Korea. The meeting highlighted Posco DX's keen interest in Uzbekistan's burgeoning IT sector and its abundant human resources potential.
Posco DX, a pioneer in driving digital transformation across South Korea's industries, showcased its commitment to integrating cutting-edge technologies such as IT and OT, artificial intelligence, Big Data, digital twins, metaverse, and robotics. Established in 1989, the company has expanded its footprint to cater to domestic markets in the USA and South Korea, as well as several Asian nations, boasting a workforce exceeding 5,000 employees by the end of 2023.
The discussions revolved around Uzbekistan's strategic advantages for global IT businesses, including its favorable entrepreneurial climate, strategic location, and extensive support from the government. Makhliyo Muksinova, Director of Export Development at IT Park, elaborated on the conducive environment tailored for foreign enterprises, underscoring the proficiency of Uzbek specialists.
Both parties expressed readiness for collaboration, with Posco DX delegates signaling their intent to establish a company office in Uzbekistan, leveraging the country's pool of skilled IT specialists. Woo-Sik Jung emphasized Uzbekistan's human resources potential, praising their technical expertise and linguistic abilities in tackling complex challenges. Posco DX plans to invest in local talent through tailored training programs, aiming for their further integration into the company's operations.
Furthermore, Posco DX representatives lauded Uzbekistan's governmental initiatives aimed at fostering a conducive ecosystem for technological enterprises. They appreciated the state's efforts in enhancing the business environment's efficacy, which aligns with Posco DX's vision for sustainable growth and innovation.
In a concluding gesture, Minister Sherzod Shermatov extended an invitation to Woo-Sik Jung to visit Uzbekistan, facilitating deeper engagement with the country's vibrant IT sector and paving the way for future collaboration endeavors.
