Kyrgyzstan and Russia have entered into a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on a project aimed at constructing thermal power plants within the republic's territory. The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation reports.
The memorandum was signed by Nikolai Shulginov, the Minister of Energy of Russia, and Taalaibek Ibraev, the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Project Focus
The agreement focuses on cooperation for the construction project of the Chaldovar thermal power plant. This initiative underscores the commitment of both parties to pursue promising projects in the realm of modernizing and building generating capacities, with active involvement from the Russian side, on Kyrgyzstan's territory.
The memorandum outlines the framework for collaboration between the two nations in executing the construction project. It delineates the roles and responsibilities of each party, as well as the objectives and milestones to be achieved throughout the project's lifecycle.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan has increased its electricity supplies to Kyrgyzstan following an accident at a thermal power plant in Bishkek. The decision was made known during a telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of the two countries.
