The Ministry of Labour of Kyrgyzstan issued a warning about extremist groups attempting to recruit Kyrgyz citizens residing in Russia. The Ministry urged the public to remain vigilant and not be swayed by these attempts.
Reports from Kyrgyz authorities indicate that numerous Kyrgyz citizens in Russia have been receiving unsolicited job offers through social media and messaging platforms. These offers, it is believed, are part of a strategy by extremists to involve them in terrorist activities within Russia. The Ministry advised the public to disregard such job offers, refrain from participating in any suspicious campaigns, and monitor their children’s online activities.
The Ministry emphasized the severe consequences of involvement in terrorist activities, reminding the public that such actions can lead to life imprisonment in Russia.
On March 22, a violent incident occurred at Crocus City Hall, a concert venue near Moscow. A group of terrorists opened fire on the audience who had gathered to watch a performance by the Russian band Picnic, before setting the venue ablaze. Official reports confirm that 143 attendees lost their lives in the attack.
In the aftermath of the attack, Russian law enforcement detained 11 individuals, including four Tajikistan citizens: Dalerjon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Rachabalizoda, Shamsiddin Fariduni, and Mukhammadsobir Faizov. The authorities also revealed the identities of four other suspects: Isroil Islomov and his sons Dilovar and Aminchon, with Dilovar identified as the previous owner of a vehicle used in the attack, and Alisher Kasimov, a former Kyrgyzstani citizen until 2014, who allegedly rented his apartment to one of the terrorists.
The Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations reported that two Kyrgyzstani women, 24-year-old Edita Jusupova and 20-year-old Maiza Gulzhigit-kyzy, perished in the attack. However, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to confirm this information, pending the results of a forensic analysis. Currently, both women are considered missing.
