Uzbekistan to showcase leather shoes and textiles in Auchan hypermarkets in Russia
Uzbekistan is set to showcase its leather shoes, textiles, and electrical equipment in 230 Auchan hypermarkets across Russia, Uzcharmsanoat reported. This promising development stems from discussions held on January 30 between Fakhriddin Boboev, the chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association, and Pierre Cardelli, the director of the department of Auchan Retail Russia, a division of the renowned French corporation Auchan.
The talks centered around the potential placement of a diverse range of Uzbek products within Auchan's vast retail network in Russia. One of the key points of discussion was the exploration of an educational program in the commerce sector. Additionally, the parties deliberated on the creation of Auchan's sourcing company in Uzbekistan.
The meeting highlighted the potential for mutually beneficial cooperation, with implications extending beyond the immediate placement of goods. The establishment of a partnership between Auchan and Uzbekistan sets the stage for future collaboration in various sectors, including commerce, education, and potentially even technological exchange.
It was emphasized that a successful partnership with the Russian branch of Auchan could pave the way for Uzbek leather and footwear enterprises to establish connections with the wider European network of the corporation.
Auchan Corporation, founded in 1961 in France, specializes in organizing wholesale trade. As of the end of 2023, the corporation boasted an extensive network of 2,321 hypermarkets and supermarkets, along with 278 franchise stores operating in over 17 countries. This vast presence provides a robust platform for the introduction of Uzbek products to a diverse and widespread consumer base.
