The manufacturer of the Russian electric car ‘Atom’, the Kama enterprise, is considering entering the Uzbek market. This move comes as Uzbekistan experiences a significant surge in the import of electric vehicles, media reports.
Atom’s Global Ambitions
Anatoly Kiyashko, the director for interaction with government bodies at Kama, stated that several countries have shown interest in both the Atom car and its operating system, Atom OS. While building factories in these countries may not be profitable, Kama could install its operating system on other electric cars, presenting an interesting export opportunity.
In addition to Uzbekistan, Kama is also considering Indonesia and Iran for the sale of its electric vehicles.
The Atom is a Russian electric car that was presented to the public in the spring of 2023. Mass production of the car is planned to begin in 2025.
