During his state visit to China, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev engaged in a meeting with Zhao Leji, the Chairman of the All-China Committee of the People's Political Consultative Conference, as reported by the President's press service on January 24.
The meeting emphasized the remarkable strides achieved in Uzbekistan-China relations, expressing confidence that this visit would inject a robust impetus into the expansion of their comprehensive strategic partnership. Over recent years, mutual trade volume has doubled, and the number of joint ventures has tripled. The effectiveness of interregional cooperation was underscored, exemplified by the positive outcomes of the inaugural Uzbek-Chinese regional forum held in Urumqi on January 22.
Both parties acknowledged the active implementation of China's experience in poverty alleviation by Uzbekistan. The country expressed interest in establishing training centers for technical specialists, drawing insights from China's expertise in social protection, insurance, and targeted assistance to the population.
The meeting highlighted the successful hosting of the Days of Chinese Culture in Uzbekistan last year and reciprocal events taking place in Beijing as part of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan.
Prior to this meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev initiated a meeting with Li Xiang, the Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
