During the business segment of his state visit to China, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan engaged in discussions with Day Houlyan, the Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), Uzbekistan's presidential press service reported on January 24.

Renowned for its extensive experience in executing substantial oil and gas projects, both domestically and internationally, the corporation has demonstrated prowess in the field.
The meeting between President Mirziyoyev and Chairman Houlyan delved into critical aspects of collaborative initiatives, including the construction of natural gas storage facilities, the modernization of gas delivery systems, the adoption of advanced drilling technologies, and the pursuit of promising projects focused on training specialists for the oil and gas sector.

The partnership between Uzbekistan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has reached unparalleled heights, boasting a collective project portfolio surpassing $3 bn. The year 2023 witnessed a remarkable influx of investments from the AIIB, amounting to $1 bn, earmarked for substantial initiatives spanning energy, water supply, road and railway reconstruction, as well as the promotion of entrepreneurship.
