The Kashkadarya branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care has successfully performed unique cardiological operations on the working hearts of three patients, as per the regional health department's press service.
The groundbreaking procedures involved:
A 52-year-old woman residing in the Karshi district underwent "Mammary-coronary shunting" with M.M. 1 shunt.
A 65-year-old woman from Qamashi district underwent aortic-coronary shunt with N.M. "2 shunt."
For R.F., a 67-year-old man from the opposite district, a highly intricate surgery termed "Endarectomy of the right internal carotid artery" was conducted. This particular procedure is crucial in cases where the carotid arteries supplying blood to the brain are narrowed by 70% or more, posing a substantial risk of ischemic stroke.
These intricate operations were carried out by skilled cardiologists from both the center and the branch. As of the latest update, all patients are reported to be in stable condition and are recovering well from the surgeries.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan conducted its first complex technological minimally invasive operation for the surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease. The procedure took place on December 26 at the Department of Neurosurgery and Clinic of Samarkand State Medical University.
