The patient, a 58-year-old individual diagnosed with bilateral deforming gonarthrosis III-IV degree – a condition affecting the knee joints – underwent the innovative procedure. Despite the complexity of the operation, the patient was administered local anesthesia, remaining conscious throughout while not experiencing any pain.
The surgical team, comprised of skilled doctors and aided by a robotic surgeon, embarked on the intricate knee replacement surgery to comprehensively assess the efficacy of integrating robotic technology into medical treatments. The primary objective was to evaluate the collaborative dynamics between the human surgeon and the robotic system and gauge the overall success of the treatment.
