Various government entities, including the Cultural Heritage Agency, Fund for Development of Culture and Art, Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and regional as well as Tashkent city administrations, are taking proactive steps to ensure the inclusion of mosaic compositions on building walls and a diverse array of archaeological, noteworthy, architectural, and monumental art monuments into the Tangible Cultural Heritage, regulation.gov.uz reports.
The initiative involves a proposal for the inclusion of these cultural treasures in the national list of real estate objects, a process subject to approval. Collaborating with the Cadastre Agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, and local administrations, the Cultural Heritage Agency has submitted the necessary documentation to the state cadastre for the inclusion of these valuable assets.
Key aspects of this initiative include:
Regulated Construction Activities: Any planned construction work in residential and non-residential areas containing significant art monuments, their protection zones, and adjacent areas necessitates obtaining approval from the Cultural Heritage Agency before commencement.
Recognition as Cultural Heritage Objects: Once included in the list, these objects are officially recognized as cultural heritage, emphasizing their historical and artistic significance.
Cadastral Status: Despite their cultural value, these objects are not part of the state cadastre of material cultural heritage, and their cadastral information is not integrated into the unified system of state cadastres.
Cadastral Documentation Updates: The initiative involves updating the cadastral documentation for residential and non-residential areas with majestic art monuments, explicitly acknowledging the cultural value of these objects.
To facilitate these efforts, amendments will be made to the national list of immovable property objects of tangible cultural heritage, as approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on October 4, 2019, through Decision No. 846.
