During the meeting of the Council of Muslim religious authorities of the Organization of Turkic States held in Tashkent on November 25, Dr. Ali Erbaş, the chairman of the Directorate of Diaonat Affairs of Turkey emphasized that there is no correlation between Islam and the globally recognized concept of terrorism.
The meeting, which marked the 4th assembly of the council, saw the participation of the general secretary of the Organization of Turkic States, muftis from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and various scholars and representatives from the religious sphere. The conference focused on strengthening relations between the religious authorities of the Turkic world and finding solutions to global problems.
Dr. Ali Erbaş, in his address, urged all Turkic peoples to unite in preserving religion and values. He expressed concern over the increasing threats to Muslims, including the rise of terrorism and the active support of anti-Islamic views. He stressed the importance of standing together against these threats, emphasizing that Islam is not a basis for terrorism or extremism.
Dr. Ali Erbaş criticized the West’s attempts to associate Islam with terrorism, calling these notions false and baseless. He condemned the imperialistic powers for creating adversaries against Islam and pointed out the ongoing genocide crimes in regions like Jerusalem, Somalia, Yemen, Gaza, Palestine, and Afghanistan. He called out the West for violating all values and losing the trust of their own people.
The conference also discussed issues of cooperation against evils such as extremism, bigotry, and intolerance of Islamophobia. All muftis agreed that strengthening mutual relations is the only way to solve these problems.
