Mehdi Zeyghami, head of The Trade Promotion Organisation of Iran (TPOI), said he will send a commercial envoy to Turkmenistan to bolster bilateral ties over the next four months, Tasnim reports.
"A comprehensive document on co-operation in various fields will be drafted between the two countries."
Zeighami estimated the volume of trade exchanges between Iran and Turkmenistan in 2022 at $500mn, stating there is significant potential to enhance it.
The two neighbours recently signed a series of deals worth around $1bn in Ashgabat.
Iran and Turkmenistan, neighbours on the Caspian Sea with a land border of more than 1,100km, plan to sign a 20-year cooperation agreement soon.
