    Uzbekistan and Afghanistan boost bilateral ties with around $100,000 in trade agreements

    Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjayev, held a significant meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, Abdul Ghani Mullah Barodar, in Kabul on October 29. The discussions revolved around various matters aimed at fostering bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

    In an extended meeting held in Kabul, representatives from ministries and agencies of both Uzbekistan and Afghanistan gathered to explore prospects for collaboration across trade, economics, and numerous other sectors.

    The Uzbek delegation included the heads of several ministries, such as energy, water management, mining industry and geology, agriculture, investment, industry and trade, transport, and foreign affairs, among others, along with various associated departments, network agencies, and associations.

    The meetings held in Kabul touched upon the implementation of the Surkhan-Puli-Khumri power transmission network construction project, the restoration and revitalization of Uzbekistan's trading houses in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, the opening of Uzbekistan Railways's representative office in Afghanistan, and several aspects of international cargo transportation, customs control, mineral deposit exploration, and development.

    Additionally, during the delegation's visit to Kabul, an exhibition showcasing national products from Uzbekistan was organized. Several meetings took place in "B2B" and "G2B" formats, bringing together representatives from government agencies and business circles in both countries.

    Notably, the outcome of these discussions was the signing of export-import contracts and transactions totaling UZS 1,185,000,000 ($97,199.15). These agreements encompass a wide array of fields, including agriculture, the textile industry, transport and logistics, the chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, production of construction materials, leather and footwear, and the electrical engineering sector.
