Scheduled for October 19, 2023, the International Education Forum, titled "Global Forum on Education: The Foundation of Building Tourism," will take place in Samarkand as part of the 25th General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization.
The forum will encompass a range of significant events:
A Ministerial Plenary Session will convene education and tourism leaders from ten different countries across the globe. During this session, guided by Mr. Juan Jose Guemes, Vice President of IE University for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, discussions will revolve around the incorporation of innovations in education to meet the needs of current and future generations.
The program will include lectures and presentations delivered by distinguished experts in the field of education, addressing topics such as "UNWTO initiatives in the realm of education" and "Investments in Tomorrow: Transformation, Technology, Innovation, and Education for an Unlimited Future."
Another noteworthy component will be a Plenary Session featuring seven speakers hailing from Uzbekistan, the USA, Switzerland, Singapore, India, China, South Korea, Spain, and Greece. These sessions will adopt a comprehensive approach, accommodating the diverse educational requirements of students at different levels, from secondary school to higher and executive education, all essential to meet the evolving needs of the tourism industry.
The forum will also include a special event dedicated to the presentation of the UNWTO Tourism Academy in Uzbekistan.
A significant highlight will be the ceremony for bestowing the Ulysses Awards UNWTO, recognizing remarkable achievements and innovative efforts in the domains of tourism and education.
The program anticipates the signing of memorandums of understanding between national and international educational institutions with a focus on tourism.
