A man was apprehended in the Urtachirchik district of Tashkent region during an operation, as per the PGO Department for Combating Economic Crimes press release.
It was discovered that I.O. was attempting to sell fake currency, specifically $10,000 for UZS 85mn. Additionally, I.O. had 27 counterfeit banknotes with a face value of $100.
As a result of this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 176 of the Criminal Code, which deals with manufacturing and selling counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities. An investigation is currently underway.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the Jizzakh Regional PGO Department recently carried out an operation that led to the arrest of an individual who tried to buy an iPhone using counterfeit money. Citizen Zh. A. had advertised an iPhone 13 Pro for sale. Citizen U.J. responded to the ad and agreed to purchase the phone for $1,000. However, the suspect paid with ten fake $100 bills during the transaction.
