The first Caspian cruise ship "Peter the Great" (Russia) will begin its voyage next year, the Turkmenbashi Seaport Administration reports.
The cruises will call at ports in Russia (Makhachkala), Azerbaijan (Baku), Kazakhstan (Aktau) and Turkmenistan (Turkmenbashi).
The 310-passenger, five-star liner was built at the Astrakhan shipyard. It is a floating hotel with panoramic restaurants, swimming pools, cinemas, spa and gym.
A source in Turkmenistan's tourism industry told Daryo that tourists on this cruise will be able to visit the Avaza resort, which has yacht clubs, a water park, a congress hall, sports stadiums and shopping centres.
Local authorities have promised to introduce a special simplified visa regime for foreigners wishing to visit the seaside recreation area.
