Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan have discussed expanding co-operation in the production and sale of construction materials, "Turkmenistan:Altyn Asyr" reports.
This direction of business partnership was discussed during a visit to Ashgabat by Nozir Ibragimov, assistant to the khokim (head) of Samarkand region of Uzbekistan on the development of local industry.
The delegation, which included representatives of AZIA METALL PROF, the largest producer of metal products in Uzbekistan, held talks with the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
"The meetings were also attended by representatives of Turkmen companies working in the production of building materials, construction, transport and logistics."
Uzbekistan's Investment Ministry previosly reported that prerequisites have been outlined for the implementation of joint projects with Turkmenistan to organise the production of construction materials, cars, electrical appliances, textiles, leather and footwear products.
