The Central Asia Border Management Assistance Program (funded by the European Union) has delivered computer equipment worth €213,300 ($271,408) to Uzbekistan's government agencies, according to the EU delegation's press service in the country.
Border troops of the State Security Service (SGS) received equipment valued at €154,000 ($195,953), including:
- A set of "Regula" passport readers
- A set of "Regula" document authenticity verification devices
- Compact magnifying devices 1003M-14
These devices will be utilized for document verification and personal identification at first-line checkpoints at border crossing points with Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
The Customs Institute of the Customs Committee received computer equipment totaling €39,000 ($49,624), including:
- A server with software
- A workstation for the educational process management system
- A server with software for comprehensive multimedia visualization systems for the educational process, LCD screen, and more.
The enhanced technical capabilities will facilitate modern educational processes with the use of advanced information and communication technologies. It will also introduce innovative forms and teaching methods, improve the practice procedures, and establish a link between theoretical education and practical activities of customs authorities.
The Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Internal Affairs were also provided with computer equipment valued at €20,000 ($25,448).
