Uzbekhydroenergy announces tender for construction of five new hydroelectric power stations. This is the first major project based on a public-private partnership in the hydroenergy sector, Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reports.
The financial consultant for the project is Synergy Consulting, the technical consultant is Turkish company Dolsar Engineering, and the legal consultant is Kazakhstani company Unicase.
The plan is to build five hydropower plants with a total capacity of 46.6 MW: "Dukentsay," "Kamchik," "Kizildarya," "Kuyi Koksu," and "Suvlisay." All projects are being offered as a single lot.
The estimated total cost of the future power stations is $106.9 mn. Once operational, they are expected to generate an average of 179 mn kWh of electricity annually. Conducting the tender for all projects as a single lot will simplify and optimize the construction processes, increase their efficiency and transparency. International experience is being used to ensure financial stability and compliance with engineering standards.
All interested investors, both local and foreign, are invited to submit a Request for Qualification (RFQ) to participate in the project. The tender process is planned to begin in August, with the details being published at that time.
Earlier, The Minister of Energy, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, announced the commencement of construction for a "green hydrogen" production complex in Uzbekistan, scheduled to begin in August this year.
Uzbekistan has confirmed its firm commitment to the implementation of the global agenda until 2030, demonstrating its achievements in almost all 16 adopted goals through well-implemented reforms in the economic, social and other spheres.
