A delegation comprising a group of Turkology professors led by Professor Zeyneb Yurakli, the deputy dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Oxford University, paid a visit to Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, a local news source reports.
During their visit, the guests were provided with a comprehensive overview of the university's activities, including information about renowned figures in Uzbek classical literature, significant contributors to Renaissance literature, and the works of scholars. The institution's efforts in promoting the Uzbek language and culture, as well as the initiatives of the "Uzbek school," captured the keen interest of the visiting delegation.
One of the significant discussions held during the meeting was the prospect of establishing an Uzbek language course at Oxford University, along with the necessary methodological support. The parties reached an agreement to formalize their collaboration through the signing of a memorandum of cooperation during the official delegation's visit to Oxford University in December of the current year.
In another development, it was announced in October 2022 that Uzbek language courses would be introduced at the University of Hungary.
