Inecobank, an Armenian bank, and three Uzbek banks - Xalq Banki, Ipoteka Bank, and Kapitalbank - have recently made public announcements regarding the suspension of services for the Russian money transfer system, Unistream. RIA Novosti reported on July 24, citing statements from the respective credit institutions.
Reports show that Ipoteka Bank stated that international money transfers through Unistream have been temporarily suspended. However, details on the resumption of Unistream services will be provided later. Similarly, Xalq Banki, also temporarily suspended its operations with the international money transfer system, Unistream, as confirmed by the bank's press service.
In Uzbekistan, Kapitalbank declared the suspension of services for three money transfer systems, including Unistream, Contact, and Golden Crown, starting from July 25. The decision was made in response to an increase in suspicious transactions, as mentioned by the bank's press service.
Banks in Kazakhstan (Freedom Finance and Kazpost), Armenia (Armeconombank, Ardshinbank, Converse Bank, and Evocabank), Georgia (TBC Bank, Bank of Georgia, Liberty Bank, Credo Bank, and Basisbank), and Kyrgyzstan (Companion, DemirBank, Asia Alliance Bank, and Ayyil Bank) have also ceased to work with the Unistream money transfer system.
Additionally, on July 24, Inecobank in Armenia also reported the unavailability of Unistream services. It was previously reported that Kazpost had temporarily ceased to accept and send money through the Russian payment system Unistream from July 20, following its inclusion in U.S. sanctions.
