Uzbekistan saw a rise in leisure tourism in the first six months of 2025, with 783,700 foreign visitors arriving for vacation, according to the National Statistics Committee. This marks an increase of 255,000 tourists compared to the same period last year, representing growth of 48.3%.

Russia was the top source of leisure tourists, with 166,600 visitors, or 21.2% of the total. Turkmenistan followed with 123,000 travelers (15.7%), while Kazakhstan contributed 77,700 (9.9%). Kyrgyzstan sent 71,600 visitors (9.1%), and Tajikistan 49,100 (6.3%).
From non-CIS nations, China ranked first with 39,100 visitors, making up 5% of the total. Turkey came next with 29,300 visitors (3.7%), followed by India with 22,000 (2.8%), Italy with 18,600 (2.4%), and South Korea with slightly under 15,000 (1.9%).

In 5M25, Uzbekistan welcomed 4.2mn foreign visitors for all purposes. Kyrgyzstan accounted for the largest share with 1.28mn arrivals, followed by Tajikistan with 993,700 and Kazakhstan with 889,600.
Between January and April 2025, Uzbekistan welcomed 3.1mn foreign tourists, up 46.4% — or about 988,000 more visitors — from the same period in 2024.
The growth comes alongside policy reforms to improve the tourist experience, including the country’s recent adoption of the World Tourism Organization’s International Code for the Protection of Tourists, reinforcing its commitment to global standards and traveler rights.
