On July 14, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of professions in Uzbekistan for which the employment of individuals under the age of 18 is prohibited, The Ministry of Justice announces.
The list primarily includes heavy and hazardous work, as well as jobs with dangerous or harmful working conditions. The specific enumeration is to be determined by the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Health in coordination with the Republican Tripartite Commission on Social and Labor Issues (Article 412 of the Labor Code).
The list includes the following professions:
- Underground mine worker
- Coal enrichment operator
- Oil and gas extraction operator
- Black metal production controller
- Precious metal production apparatus operator
- Diamond concentrate finisher
- Diamond and other hard material grinder
- Heating system repair fitter
- High-frequency electric welder
- Gas distribution station operator
- Asphalt concrete worker
- Passenger train mechanic foreman
- Medical drug dispenser
- On-duty medical staff at emergency medical stations
- Embroidery pattern artist
- Baker
- Dough moulder
- Meat cutter
- Ice cream maker
Additionally, the government has set conditions for organising shift work, and minors are also not allowed to be employed under such arrangements.
Earlier, Daryo also mentioned that the Court of Ministers is anticipated to approve the list of jobs and responsibilities that are prohibited for individuals under the age of 18 in certain industries.
