On July 14, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the newly elected president of Uzbekistan, took the oath of office. During his speech at the inauguration, he emphasized the importance of evaluating leaders based on tangible results rather than mere rhetoric, his press secretary reports.
President Mirziyoyev acknowledged the expectations of the people, stating that they anticipate practical actions and positive outcomes. He highlighted the significance of justifying the hope and trust placed in the government and fulfilling its mission as both a duty and responsibility to the nation.
The president made it clear that any leader who disregards the law, shows contempt for the people, and engages in corruption will face rejection. He emphasized that such individuals, whether they hold ministerial, gubernatorial, or other significant positions, damage the reputation of the state through their negative actions. President Mirziyoyev pledged to bid farewell to those who cause harm.
Furthermore, President Mirziyoyev expressed his intention to replace these individuals with educated young men and women who possess a genuine concern for the country and its people. He highlighted the influx of talented individuals who have received education from prestigious universities in Uzbekistan and abroad, as well as gained valuable experience working in renowned companies. He sees them as future leaders, capable managers who will contribute to the development and progress of regions, sectors, and industries.
