German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said he does not consider a possible freeze of the conflict in Ukraine acceptable, Interfax reports.
“Russia needs to understand that we can’t talk about concluding a kind of “cold peace”, in which a new border between Russia and Ukraine will pass approximately along the front line,” he said Scholz.
He added that a "just peace" is possible only with the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine. However, when asked whether they should also leave Crimea, Scholz replied: “It is not for us to formulate, instead of Ukraine, what agreements it wants to reach.”
