Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in New Delhi, in a recent meeting with Agendra Mukul, the Director of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) under the Indian Ministry of Textiles, stressed that aspects of commencing a joint factory in Uzbekistan are currently being finalized. This initiative would mark the first project of its kind for NIFT outside of India.
Besides, the Indian side expressed interest in developing and establishing cooperation with Uzbek colleagues in training modern personnel for the textile industry. NIFT has only trained for the local market so far, but the recent reforms in Uzbekistan have prompted the institution to cooperate with the Central Asian country.
Currently, representatives of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry (TITLP) and NIFT are negotiating to establish cooperation in the training of industry-demanded personnel, the introduction of innovative educational technologies into the educational process, exchange of experience on ‘know-how,’ implementation of exchange programs for students and professors.
Established in 1986, NIFT is the premier higher education institution in this field, dedicated to producing skilled professionals for India's textile and garment industry.
