The individuals responsible for installing a hidden camera in the girls' dormitory at the Kokand Pedagogical Institute have been brought to justice, Supreme Court's press service reports.
On May 5, the Kokand city court ruled on the criminal cases and found the first vice-rector for youth issues and spiritual and educational affairs, O.B., guilty of violating privacy, as specified in Article 46-1 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. He was fined 15 times the BCU (basic calculation unit), amounting to a $391 penalty.
Three employees from the institute's educational technology center, A.M., B.O., and the head of the department R.M., were also found guilty of the same offense and each received a fine of 10 times the BHM, totaling $261.
The press release states that parties dissatisfied with the decision have the right to file a complaint and protest to the appellate instance of the Fergana Regional Court within the specified legal procedure and timeframe.
The incident involving the hidden camera in the girls' dormitory was reported by a female student on April 4 through the Ministry's Telegram channel. Following an investigation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Fergana Region, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation initiated a service investigation and took appropriate measures against the individuals involved once they were identified.
The vice-rector directly involved in the incident was dismissed from their position, along with three other responsible employees, while one specialist received a disciplinary measure.
