Uzbekistan's healthcare sector is implementing measures to maximize the utilization of the private sector, UzA reports.
Outsourced medical laboratory services have been established in all districts of Tashkent city and in several locations including Termez, Sherabad, Angor, Kumkurgan, and Boysun districts of Surkhandarya region.
Discussions are currently underway with more than 10 foreign entrepreneurs to promote this model in 170 district and city medical associations. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to install state-of-the-art medical equipment, such as MRI and MSCT, in regional and district hospitals to meet the growing demand for these services.
The oncology center and its regional branches require advanced equipment for swift and accurate diagnosis and treatment. To address this, proposals have been prepared for the private sector to establish "X-ray radiology centers" through leasing agreements. If established, these centers will offer services that will be procured by the state as part of the guaranteed healthcare services.
Additionally, projects are being developed for the establishment of multidisciplinary hospitals with 1000-1500 beds in each region, based on public-private partnerships.
