A 42-year-old Uzbek woman who traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia, to sell her kidney has gone missing, 78.ru reports.
The woman arrived in the city on March 8 but stopped communicating with her family on March 24. Concerned about her sister's well-being, the woman's sister also traveled to St. Petersburg but has been unable to locate her.
The missing woman's decision to sell her kidney was driven by her debts in Uzbekistan. The specific clinic where she intended to undergo the procedure is unknown. It is worth noting that she left behind her husband and five children in Uzbekistan.
